Flick with Fido

Grab your family, some lawn chairs, and your pup for Flick with Fido at the Bedford Bark Park. This year, we'll be screening DC League of Super-Pets (PG-2022) beginning as soon as the sun sets. This event is free to attend.

Fire Department Open House

Saturday, October 14
Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Fire Station No. 1, 1816 Bedford Rd. 

Meet your Bedford firefighters, tour an ambulance and fire truck, watch as crews demonstrate vehicle extrication, learn proper fire extinguisher use, use a fire hose (with the help of firefighters), and so much more! Free hot dogs, chips, and drinks will be provided.

Paper Shred Day

Saturday, October 21
Time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Meadow Park Athletic Complex, 3200 Meadow Park Dr.

During the event, the Bedford Beautification Commission will accept paper (like old documents) to be securely shredded and recycled. Electronic waste (old computers, fax machines, etc.) will also be collected by DFW Reclaimers. For more information, visit the Paper Shred Day webpage.

Beer, Brats, and More

Saturday, October 21

Join the Library in the Pumpkin Patch for the BPL Foundation's big outdoor party! Enjoy live music while you get your grub on. There will be a variety of Texas craft beer and food trucks selling bratwursts, sweets, and much more.

Halloween Goat Yoga

Saturday, October 28

Come and get your GOGA on while the Dallas Goat Yoga's tribe of pet goats graze and jump around (or on!) you. Bring your own yoga mat and dress in your favorite Halloween costume.

Halloween Bash

Saturday, October 28
Time: 3 to 6 p.m.
Generations Park at Boys Ranch, 2801 Forest Ridge Dr.

This free, family event has something for all ages. Trick or Treat and shop in the Halloween Marketplace, walk around the lake, stop at treat stations, play games to win prizes, jump in the bounce houses, eat from one the delicious food trucks, and more! Parking is on-site with overflow at the Bedford Public Library. More info to come!

Halloween Bash October 28, 2023

Fall Sweep

Saturday, November 4
Time: 9 a.m. to noon 
Meet at Bedford Library (2424 Forest Ridge Dr.) at 9 a.m.

Join Keep Bedford Beautiful for the return of the Fall Sweep. Volunteers of ALL ages are invited to help pick-up litter and debris from City streets and parks. To register, complete the online volunteer application form and check the “Fall Sweep” event box.

Please note, this date was changed from September 16 due to expected high temperatures and volunteers.

Chalk It Up! Chalk Art Contest

Saturday, November 4
Time: 12 to 3 p.m.
Harris Ryals Park, 2700 Cummings Dr. 
Register Online (FREE to participate; however, registration is required)

Harris Ryals Park is getting a chalk art makeover! Participants will be assigned a concrete square to create their masterpiece. The first 75 people to register will receive their own set of chalk, or you can bring your own. Prizes will be awarded based on a variety of categories: 6 and under, 7-10 years old, 11-14 years old, 15-17 years old, 18 and up, overall best 3-D, most unique, best use of color, and best fall theme.

A food truck will be on-site to keep those creative juices flowing. Parking will be available at Spring Garden Elementary School and the former YMCA parking lot.
