    Ever wanted to be a published author? Now's your chance! Submit your short story to the Bedford Public Library- the top ten stories will be compiled into a printed book available in the library! Rules: Participants must be ages 9-12. Entries must be typed and submitted to alexa.bynum-soto@bedfordtx.gov by December 31st, 2021, in order to be eligible. Please include your name, age, email, and phone number with your entry. Entries should be no more than 2,000 words. If you have any illustrations you wish to accompany your story, please include a scanned copy in your submissions. All illustrations must be completed in pen. One short story per participant. Short stories must be original work and have a title. Library staff reserves the right to refuse any short stories deemed inappropriate for publication.

  2. Write of Passage: Teen Short Stories

    Teens, are you published? Wanna be? Submit your original short story to the Bedford Public Library. The top stories will be published in a collection available at the Library! Email entries to sarah.featherstone@bedfordtx.gov by December 31. Rules: Participants must be ages 13-18. Entries must be typed and submitted as a Word doc, Google doc, or PDF. Please include your name, age, phone number, and email address. Entries must be at least 500 words and no more than 2,000 words or five pages. One short story per teen. Short stories must be original work and have a title. Copyrighted characters are not allowed. Library staff reserves the right to refuse any short stories deemed inappropriate for publication.

    Pool is a classification of cue sports played on a table with six pockets along the rails , into which balls are deposited. Each specific pool game has its own name; some of the better-known include eight-ball, blackball, nine-ball, ten-ball, seven-ball, straight pool, one-pocket, and bank pool. Just come in and join in the fun!

  3. Senior Ceramics

    Ceramic art is art made from ceramic materials, including clay. It may take forms including artistic pottery, including tableware, tiles, figurines and other sculpture. As one of the plastic arts, ceramic art is one of the visual arts. While some ceramics are considered fine art, as pottery or sculpture, most are considered to be decorative, industrial or applied art objects. We provide basic paint. Come join this class and make some ceramic art!
