Yes, a permit is required for a garage sale. Only City issued garage sale signs may be displayed. Garage sale signs can only be placed on private property within 24 hours of the sale and must be removed within 24 hours after the conclusion of the sale.
The City will issue you 3 garage sale signs to use for $10 with the option of purchasing 2 additional signs at $2 each. These are the only signs that can be used. Each residence is allowed to have a maximum of 4 garage sales per year, up to 3 days maximum per sale.

The City lifted Stage 1 water restrictions. However, watering is limited between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. each day.
To dispose of limbs and branches, please make sure that they are cut no longer than 4 feet, tied, and bundled. The bundles must not weigh over 50 pounds. You can place these bundles out with your trash. Call Republic Servicees if you have an extra large amount to be picked up that day.

Installation of a water heater requires a permit. Installation may be done by a homeowner or a plumber registered with the City and licensed by the State of Texas.

New accessory buildings and fences require a permit. Accessory buildings may not be located in the front or side yard.
Residents of Bedford may take their hazardous household waste items to the Fort Worth Environmental Collection Center free of charge with a voucher from Customer Service (Water Billing Department). Residents must obtain a Bedford ECC program voucher before taking waste to the collection center. Please present proof of residency, such as a recent water bill, to receive your voucher.

Each free voucher to a resident costs the City of Bedford $50, whether someone brings a single item or a truckload (20 gallons of paint limit) so residents are encouraged to make the most of their trip. Please note: there is a 20-gallon-of-paint limit per voucher.
