Can I turn the water off at my meter?
Licensed plumbers, builders, citizen, and sprinkler companies are NOT authorized to shut off the water at a City owned water meter. This includes direct or indirect efforts to initiate or restore water service without prior approval of the City.

This ordinance does not apply to private water shut off valves. If you do not have one, a licensed plumber may install a home shut off valve for home repairs or other emergencies. If assistance is needed for water shut off at the meter, please contact the Public Works office at (817) 952-2200. For after hour emergencies, please contact Police Dispatch non-emergency at (817) 952-2127.
