Get ready, Bedford! Three new eateries are on their way with something for everyone to enjoy! The following new businesses will take the place of the former Cheddar’s location, at the corner of Central Drive and the Highway 121/183 westbound access road.
Bedford will finally have a new drive-thru coffee option. 151 Coffee serves a variety of hot and iced signature lattes such as cinnamon dulce, Snickers, German chocolate, and white chocolate macadamia in addition to hot or iced coffee and nitro brews (coffee with an extra caffeine kick). But they're not just about coffee! 151 also serves green or black teas, iced or frozen energy drinks, smoothies, and dirty sodas (soda mixed with flavorings).
151 Coffee was started right here in North Texas by Mark Wattles, who also founded Hollywood Video and restaurant chain Firebirds Wood Fired Grill. 151 gets its name from the temperature the milk is steamed at for their lattes.
151 Coffee will be drive-thru only but have some outdoor seating options. It will be the westernmost restaurant on the property. View the menu.
ANDY'S FROZEN CUSTARD
Get ready to become an official “Fandy” of Andy’s Frozen Custard. Andy’s employees make fresh custard every hour to serve up an array of concretes (custard mixed with toppings), jackhammers (concretes with a filled center), sundaes, shakes, malts, and much more. Vanilla and chocolate frozen custard are also available by themselves in a cone or cup. A current seasonal treat is the Apple Pie Concrete or Sundae, which includes a whole slice of their apple pie (baked fresh daily) with vanilla frozen custard and a caramel topping.
Not only is Andy’s Frozen Custard the official frozen treat of the Dallas Mavericks but they are also the world’s largest dessert-only franchise. The business was started in in 1986 by John and Carol Kuntz, who named it after their son, Andy. Andy Kuntz is now owner and CEO of the Springfield, Missouri-based corporation.
Andy’s will be the center business on the property and will have indoor and outdoor seating, in addition to a drive-thru. View the menu.
Get ready to savor the flavor because Bojangles is bringing its legendary biscuits and mouthwatering fried chicken to Bedford!
Bojangles isn’t your regular chicken joint. Their chicken is never frozen and arrives at the store fresh before being marinated for 12 hours and hand breaded. Their warm, flaky biscuits are also made on-site and a fresh batch is popped into the oven every 20 minutes. Whether you prefer your chicken spicy or milder, boneless or bone-in, Bojangles has options for you. The restaurant offers individual meals, family meals, breakfast, and kids’ meals. Be sure to try their Cajun chicken biscuits, sweet tea, and a Bo-Berry Biscuits for dessert.
Bojangles started in North Carolina in 1977 and over the years has become a southern staple with hundreds of locations. The Bedford Bojangles will have the same streamlined menu as the Euless location. View the menu.
Bojangles will be the restaurant closest to the 121/183 access road and Central Drive intersection. It will have both indoor and outdoor seating options, along with a drive-thru.
The property owner plans to tear down the former Cheddar’s beginning January 2. Demolition should take approximately two weeks to complete.
All restaurants are expected to be complete by the end of 2024. A specific opening date for each will be announced on the City of Bedford website and social media channels, when available.
