The City has started charging water customers a $2 convenience/transaction fee for payments via credit card. While the City still absorbs most of the costs of accepting credit card payments, the convenience/transaction fee will help offset the City’s costs of accepting credit card payments. This is a common practice among cities and the revenue collected from these convenience/transaction fees will be placed in the City’s water/wastewater fund.
To avoid the $2 fee, account owners can set up automatic bank drafts or automatic credit card payments (automatic credit card payments do not incur the fee). One can also mail a check or money order or come in-person to City Hall, Building C (1805 L. Don Dodson Dr.) and pay via check, cash, or money order.
