In June, the Bedford Communications Division was recognized with five first place and three second place trophies at the Texas Association Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) Awards Banquet, the second most-awarded City in the state for 2023. The team was honored for the following projects:
- First Place, Overall Website – City of Bedford website
- First Place, Social Media Campaign (Planned) – Generations Park at Boys Ranch
- First Place, Best Use of Short Form Video – Bedford’s Instagram Reels
- First Place, Video - Public Service Announcement (Marketing) – First with Mayor Mike
- First Place, Best Use of Photography – Bedford: A Place to Call Home
- Second Place, Best Strategic Plan – Bedford’s 3-Year Strategic Communications Plan
- Second Place, Video – Best Use of Humor – First with Mayor Mike
- Second Place, Video - Regular/Recurring Programming – Beyond the Fence series
The banquet took place during the TAMIO annual conference, which was held June 7-9 in Arlington. This year, TAMIO had a record-breaking 547 award entries across 29 categories. TAMIO is a network of communications professionals dedicated to informing Texas citizens of important issues in municipal government.
