We’re painting the next crosswalk in Bedford! Recently, the City challenged art students at Harwood Junior High School to create a design for the crosswalk located at Martin Drive, directly in front of the school.
HJH art teacher Ashleigh Milligan used this crosswalk design contest as part of a classroom assignment for her students. A subcommittee, comprised of City staff and members of the Cultural Arts Advisory Board then reviewed all submitted designs, chose three finalists, and the winner. The top three designs were created by (from left, in photo):

- Ace Utter, winner
- Draylee Stroer, finalist
Congratulations to Ace Utter, whose artwork was chosen as the winning design! Ace’s work will be hand-painted onto the crosswalk later this summer.
