ORIGINAL POST: The Bedford Animal Shelter lobby is temporarily closed to the public and is not accepting any owner surrenders for a minimum of 10 days. On May 11, a dog tested positive for parvovirus at the shelter.
Shelter staff members are going through parvo cleaning protocol and animals are being monitored for symptoms. If any of them show symptoms, the shelter will remain in parvovirus protocol for additional days.
Currently, animals are not available for adoption from the shelter. If any member of the Bedford community finds a stray animal, please attempt to locate an owner. If an owner cannot be located, please call the shelter first at 817-952-2191 and staff will be able to assist with the next steps.
