Catalytic Converter Theft Prevention kits now available with photo of a catalytic converter

To help residents protect their property, the Bedford Police Department is now offering take-home catalytic converter theft prevention kits! Bedford residents can check-out a kit, which includes the supplies needed to etch a VIN number and spray paint a vehicle’s catalytic converter. Each kit comes with a cordless engraver, high temperature paint, and how-to instructions.

To check-out a kit, please fill out the online form. Kits can be checked out Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. BPD will contact residents (in order of submitted forms) to pick up a kit at the Police Station, 2121 L. Don Dodson Dr, during normal business hours. Once all kits have been checked out, a waiting list will be created.
