[ARCHIVED] Important Information from the Bedford PD

PD Noise Complaints

Last Friday night, a regional car club met in the Pennington Field parking lot around 9 p.m., which resulted in many noise complaints from residents. After being notified of the meet-up, officers responded to the location and told car owners they needed to disperse and reduce the noise.

At the time of the pop-up event, HEB ISD was not aware of its occurrence and did not have time to restrict access to the parking lot. Since the event, HEB ISD and the Bedford Police Department have communicated and agreed to restrict this type of unpermitted event on their property going forward. Officers conducted traffic enforcement in the area and stopped multiple vehicles leaving the event, resulting in citations being issued.

In addition, the Bedford Police Department has developed a multi-step plan to address problems from similar future events. These plans will be in coordination with HEB ISD and include extra staffing and a zero-tolerance approach regarding noise-related vehicle activity.

Please remember to call the Police non-emergency line of 817-952-2127 to file a noise complaint, not 9-1-1.
