To further commemorate the City’s status as a Purple Heart City, we are accepting submissions for a special traffic signal box design! Desired submissions will reflect the importance and honor of receiving a Purple Heart and serve as a visual statement of the City’s pride of being acknowledged as a Purple Heart City. Other than adherence to the theme, the only stipulation is the design should integrate the Purple Heart Medal into the artwork in some way. The project is open to artists of all ages, and participants do not have to live in Tarrant County to apply.

Contest winners will be based upon appropriateness, creativity, craftsmanship, and adherence to the theme. In addition, the selected artist will be paid $300 for their work being chosen for this project. The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 27. To apply and learn more, visit
