Starting Monday, June 14, crews will begin work on the second phase of the Harwood Waterline Project, which will extend the project and lane closures west to the Spring Grove Drive.
In addition, traffic will shift to the west side of the road at the Harwood and Forest Ridge intersection, so repairs can be completed on the east side of the intersection. On June 7, traffic was reduced to one southbound lane and one northbound lane at the intersection to allow crews to repair the west side of the intersection, which was completed ahead of schedule. The repairs to the east side of the road should not take longer than two weeks to complete, weather permitting.
The purpose of the project is to upgrade the waterline, which will improve service to the neighboring subdivisions and Generations Park at Boys Ranch, as well as increasing nearby fire hydrant pressure. When the waterline project is complete, the City will be able to repave Hardwood Road, from Bedfordshire to the western Bedford border starting summer or fall 2022.
