Posted on: June 4, 2021[ARCHIVED] Tips for Controlling the Mosquito Population

To help keep this streak going, we need your help. Here are some suggestions to keep mosquitoes from breeding around your property:
Check your property for standing water such as saucers under potted plants, roof gutters, flat roofs, old tires, toys, garbage cans, and dumpsters - anything that might hold water and not be emptied out regularly
Clean and change the water regularly (several times per week) in bird baths, wading pools, pet dishes, and planters
Wear long pants and long-sleeve shirts outdoors, especially at dawn and dusk, when mosquitoes are most likely to be out, and use an insect repellent containing DEET to help prevent mosquito bites
