Water Utility customers who pay their bill online may have received some confusing notifications recently. The City and its vendor switched to a new online platform, which has certain notifications automatically turned-on for customers. For example, customers who are billed on the first of the month were notified yesterday that their bill was due on April 25. The automatic notification did not consider whether customers had already paid their bill or not. This created confusion for customers who had already paid their bill.
Customers who are billed on the fifteenth of the month will receive the same notification on May 3 regarding their bill being due May 9. If customers wish to adjust their notifications, they just need to log-in to their account and turn off the “payment reminder” notification.
Other than increased notifications, the new system has expanded capabilities such as managing multiple accounts through one login and up to 12 months of billing and payment history. Customers can also add multiple payment forms through the “My Wallet” feature and, if they forget their login credentials, can pay their bill as a “guest.”
