In April 2022, the City invited artists to submit proposals for a mural that would be located inside Fire Station 1, located at 1816 Bedford Rd.
Bedford artist Audie Pope’s design was chosen to be created on the mural. After her design was chosen, Audie worked closely with the BFD to integrate Bedford-specific branding into the mural and create a stunning piece of art for the department to enjoy for years to come.
The design reflects many of the roles the department serves throughout Bedford, including firefighting, emergency medical care, fire education, and community engagement.
