Citizens Fire Academy

The Bedford Fire Department offers an opportunity to citizens that live or work in Bedford to learn more about their fire department. The Citizens Fire Academy (CFA) is offered once a year and meets one evening per week for 10 weeks. More than 20 informative topics, including fire and arson investigations, fire station tours, equipment, and recruiting, are instructed by firefighters with numerous hands-on activities. These activities allow the class participants opportunities to experience the firefighter’s job.
