Operations Division

The Operations Division is responsible for responding to the needs of the citizens and guests passing through the city at anytime day or night. These needs consist of, but are not limited to, fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical services, hazardous material emergencies, severe weather operations, and any other emergencies that may arise.

The Operations Division is also responsible ensuring personnel complete the necessary training in fire suppression, Emergency Medical Services, hazardous materials, safety, and specialized rescue operations.

The Operations Division is also very active in public education through several programs such as fire safety education (including the Fire and Life Safety Education Clown Troupe) and station tours.

In addition, the division assists the Fire Prevention Division through regular annual fire inspections, emergency management operations, along with fire cause and determination.

The Operations Division is divided into three shifts, with all firefighter/paramedics working 48 hours on, 96 hours off schedule.
