Community Services

The Community Services Division is dedicated to providing quality service in partnership with our community to create a safe environment for all.

The division consists of one sergeant, one patrol officer, and two civilians. We are committed to serving our community by providing the best police service possible with well-trained, professional, and community-oriented police officers and civilians. We realize police work does not just involve responding to calls for service, writing citations or taking “bad guys” to jail. Community programs that serve a wide array of our population have been carefully developed as an outreach to our community. Some of these programs were developed using best-practice models from across the country and others originated within the department. Some of our community programs are geared towards serving our at-risk population such as the elderly and at-risk youth. The division encompasses a variety of distinct functions, to include:

  • Crime Prevention Officer
  • School Resource Officers (SRO)
  • Volunteers in Policing Services (VIPS)
  • School Crossing Guards

Our goal is to be involved in proactive projects to lessen crime and improve the quality of life for all our citizens.
