The Animal Shelter is temporarily closed on Mondays, due to staffing shortages. This is to allow Shelter staff to completely focus on animal care. Until further notice, shelter lobby hours are:
Tuesday through Friday: 1 to 6 p.m.
Saturday: 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
As always, for any urgent animal-related issue, please call 817-952-2191 during normal business hours or 817-952-2127 (Police Department Dispatch) outside of normal business hours.
Responsibilities and Services
A division of the Police Department, Bedford Animal Services responsibilities include the care and custody of all impounded animals, responding to service calls, quarantining animals, investigating reports of cruelty, and enforcing animal ordinances. The division proactively seeks loving homes for all adoptable animals.

Licensing is an annual process that can assist you in the return of your beloved pet in the event of separation. In addition, pet licensing is a City ordinance. A citation may be issued for those not in compliance with the City ordinance.
