About Us

Welcome to Bedford Parks and Recreation! It is our mission to provide creative and diverse programs and services to enrich our community through education, socialization, and wellness opportunities. We do this by fulfilling our vision to provide outstanding leisure experiences for a better quality of life. We invite you to take full advantage of our programs for citizens of all ages and to enjoy our beautiful parks.

  • Senior Programming

Senior events and programs have returned with most activities at Old Bedford School and the Public Library.

  • Pavilion Rentals

The public is now able to rent park pavilions at Bedford Parks. For rentals, please email Recreation staff.

  • Keep Bedford Beautiful Events

Crud Cruiser-Hazardous Waste Collection, Chunk Your Junk, Clean Up Bedford Day, and Shred Day will return in 2022.

  • Roy Savage Pool

Roy Savage Pool at Central Park will re-open Summer 2022.

  • Bedford Blues and BBQ Festival

The City will not hold the annual Blues and BBQ Fest in 2021. Instead, City officials will take the extra time that’s needed to fully reimagine and create a new signature event for the community. Over the next year, there will be multiple discussions with City Council and the time necessary for planning and securing great entertainment and vendors. The Council plans to host the City’s future signature event in 2022 at the perfect venue, the new Generations Park.

The Splash Water Park, Boys Ranch Activity Center, Bedford Senior Center Building, Bedford Onstage Building, and Arts Council North-East Building are all permanently closed due to construction at Generations Park.
