The Center and Generations Park at Boys Ranch
On November 6, 2017, Bedford voters passed the General Obligation Parks Bond for $70 million, funding this next phase of construction at Generations Park at Boys Ranch Park.
Council voted in June 2019 to allocate a total of $64.5 million towards the construction of Generations Park at Boys Ranch, (Phase Next) and $5.5 million towards the design and construction of a visual and performing arts center at the Old Bedford School.
After multiple community meetings and surveys, see history, a final scope for the project was developed.
Facilities and amenities of the project include:
The Center: Recreation Center with an indoor pool, community rooms, activity rooms, fitness rooms, games lounge, indoor pool with two slides, therapeutic hot tub, lap lanes and play feature, reservable party rooms with tables, refrigerators, tv monitors, and sinks, fitness mezzanine with indoor track, exercise equipment, and free weights, double court gymnasium and large locker rooms with showers, lockers, and family changing rooms.
Outdoor aquatic facility to include a lazy river, concessions and restroom building, lap lanes, reservable cabanas, chaise lounges, two slides, splash pad, and play features.
The Ballfields at Generations Park: Softball/baseball complex with three fields, restroom, and concession building.
Special events lawn: A large manicured lawn with two pavilions with sound and lights for staging entertainment. The special events lawn will also have an accompanying restroom building.
Multipurpose field area.
The project has a 24-month duration beginning October 2020 and with a completion date of October 2022.
