Water Utility Billing

Responsibilities

This division is responsible for managing the utility billing for water, sewer, solid waste and recycling services. Bedford bills over 14,000 utility accounts monthly. The City contracts with Republic Services for the collection of solid waste and recycling, and provides consolidated billing for these services with the customer's water and sewer bills.

Senior Discount

All Bedford residents 65 years of age and older are eligible for a discount on their utility services. Check your bill. If you see a $4 charge for drainage, you are receiving the senior discount. If not, call 817-952-2112 for instructions on how to activate your senior discount.

Payment Terms

  • Payments will be considered past due if they have not been received by the Customer Service Office located in City Hall, Building C by 5 p.m. on the due date printed on the bill.
  • If payment has not been received by the due date printed on the original bill, one delinquent notice will be mailed.
  • If full payment has not been received in the Customer Service Office by 5 p.m. on the due date printed on the delinquent notice (or approved payment arrangements have not been made), utility service will be terminated on the next business day.
  • The City accepts MasterCard, Visa, checks, money orders, or cashier's checks. If you are paying over the phone, there are additional options to pay with electronic check, Discover, American Express, MasterCard, and Visa debit or credit.

Interactive Voice Response System

To better serve residents, there is an additional way to pay for water service. Bill pay can be collected by phone with the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system. Using the IVR will provide customers with the advantage of additional payment options. An account holder can now pay with a checking account, an electronic check, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express by phone. Please dial 1-833-648-0159 and follow the prompts. For further assistance, please email Customer Services or call 817-952-2112.

EyeOnWater Program

EyeOnWater is an online tool that allows residents to monitor their water usage. Homeowners can create an account online and set leak alerts that send text and/or email notifications if there is a potential leak detected. View the EyeOnWater webpage for additional information.
